Sick kitty
Those of you who already know about Suki's illness will be glad to hear she is doing much better. I returned from Queensland to discover littlest miss had not eaten in at least a few days, and had lost a great deal of weight off a frame that did not have much to spare. She was still very alert at that stage, and appeared healthy apart from my being able to feel every bone, but within a couple of days went from wanting lots of cuddles to being lethargic, hiding and not coming when called.
After a couple of days on antibiotics didn't help, the vet suspected a blockage, or pancreatitis, and when a full physical exam, blood, urine and radiology didn't shed any light on the issue he decided to keep her overnight on a drip with plans to operate in the morning. By the next day she had started to come good and it was looking more like an infection, so the vet decided to keep her another night on the antibiotics. The following morning she was drinking and eating a bit, mainly just the gravy off the top of the wet food, and ready to come home. She is now back to her old inquisitive self, into everything and very vocal. She's going back for a check up on Saturday just to be sure.
Thanks to Val for the vets details, they've been great.
